More famous than any drummer has a right to be with 42 years as the heartbeat with Iron Maiden, Nicko has a style as punchy and distinctive as his battered, lived-in face. He enjoyed the rare distinction of being both the jester in the Iron Maiden pack and the ace. As for his off stage personality, “Mr Excess All-Areas,” he once described himself as, and it’s fair to say he wasn’t exaggerating.
Nicko has overcome many adversities in his journey, including recovering form a stroke in 2023. He underwent 10 weeks of intensive therapy and was able to start rehearsals with Iron Maiden just a few months later for their “The Future Past” tour.
